Surrounded by a shady 18th-century park, the hotel comes slowly into view as you approach it from an avenue flanked by majestic pines. This hotel also has an exotic soul, as did Count Gian Pietro, the adventurous 18th-century explorer who inspired the hotel's extraordinary antique oriental décor. Chinese furniture, Thai woodcarvings and Balinese parquetry are set against the rich Baroque backdrop of the hotel like echoes of the Far East. The hotel has a total of 64 rooms and facilities on offer to guests include air conditioning, a lobby area with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a cloakroom, lift access, a café, a bar, a restaurant, conference facilities and Internet access (charges apply). For an additional fee, guests may also take advantage of the room and laundry services and there is a garage and parking available for those arriving by car.
SITUACIÓN:
Housed in an historic patrician villa that still exudes the splendour of the 18th century, the hotel is just a few kilometres from Varese, Lake Maggiore and the Swiss border, and is also within easy reach of the new Milan trade fair facilities and Malpensa Airport.
HABITACIÓN:
The antique oriental furnishings in each room of the hotel are absolutely unique: the writing desk, wardrobe and headboard are in wooden parquetry from Indonesia, and the curtains are woven on wooden looms. In addition, each room is named after a point of interest in the province of Varese, which guests can discover through the prints and photographs that decorate the walls. The en suite bathrooms are extremely comfortable, thanks to the multi-function Jacuzzi shower, an anti-fog mirror, and a quick and easy-to-use infrared heating system and guests can expect a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, a TV, a radio, Internet access, a minibar, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a double or king-size bed, a safe, air conditioning and heating. The rooms also feature either a balcony or a terrace.
DEPORTES:
The hotel offers guests a sauna, a steam bath (for an additional fee) and a gym. The nearest golf course is some 10 minutes' drive away.
OTRAS:
The Le Meridiane Restaurant, with its refined and delicate cuisine, is the ideal choice for lunch. When the Restaurant del Conte opens in the evening for dinner, the cuisine turns gourmet. Mediterranean and international haute cuisine specialities are served in a sumptuous dining room, with the floor, coffered ceiling and silver all dating back to the era when the villa was built. |
